Kindbridge’s Daniel Umfleet Interviewed by Gambling.com’s “The Edge”

Gambling.com is digital media company that focuses on iGaming and sports betting. Among their content offerings, is a video and podcast series called “The Edge”. Throughout the series, host Larry Henry discusses various trending topics within the gambling industry with experts in their respective fields. Among the topics being thrust to the forefront of the industry as 2025 comes to a close, is Responsible Gambling (RG). With cases of problem gambling on the rise in the United States, consumers, pubic health officials, state regulators, and operators alike are coming to terms with one truth – if regulated iGaming and sports betting are to persist as a form of government sanctioned entertainment, a more holistic approach to RG is required.

With skin in the game as Gambling.com’s chief reporter, Larry Henry invited Kindbridge Behavioral Health’s very own Daniel Umfleet to discuss Responsible Gambling. The interview touched on current events, such as the Ohio State University (OSU) symposium on the Cost of Problem Gambling (Umfleet was on the panel) and the recent NBA betting scandal. While certain topics were par for the course, Larry Henry expressed genuine interest in what more can be done to protect the mental health of the gambling public and their loved ones. He asked Umfleet about operator involvement in creating better RG programs, and what steps individuals can take to be more mindful of their relationship with gambling. Our insightful leader responded with valuable takeaways that anyone involved with iGaming and sports betting can benefit from. It’s all detailed in the highly-digestible meeting between polar camps in online gambling who have come together to discuss a brighter future for Responsible Gaming.
